Luca Williams-Barnett is amongst Tottenham Hotspur’s upcoming talents looking to break into the senior team and showcase his attributes.
The 15-year old England international is a very versatile attacker, who can play at both ends of the attack. But according to people close to him, he excels in the number 10 position as a left winger.
He can drive the ball with great ease and by his direct running he can catch defenders off guard very often.
Luca is very well known also for his tricks and his crazy footwork which his father, who is also his personal trainer, helped him to achieve.
His family has played a fundamental part for his overall development as they all have helped the process during his training drills: “We used to work really hard on the left foot until it became the norm, I taught him from the beginning to scan the pitch we used to do volleys whilst balancing on things like broken bricks. I used to work him and go 1v1 and obviously got the better due to age and size”.
“Watching him grow into a young footballer has been a very proud experience for me and my wife and daughter his mum would come in the garden and video us and my daughter was a great keeper for us. So it’s been a massive team effort from the whole family”, his father quoted.
His eye catching performances for Spurs at the U16 level, got him the chance to represent England on the same level last November- which was a huge target set for him.
For Luca there is only upwards from now on as he has all the tools to become a modern day winger, and with his dedication, passion and willingness to learn, he could achieve it.
